Obligatory ultra-overexposed black and white self portrait with my new X100.

I’m starting to love that little thing!

Me and my Minolta CLE.

I never go out without bringing a camera along, and the CLE is my choice most of the time. Such a babe! :)

Sitting on the dock

I’m back to Rome! Currently enjoying a couple of totally lazy days before going back to work for one week. My trip to Berlin has been nothing short of amazing. I had been there already but this time I had the opportunity to walk around and visit some of the most famous districts taking as much time as I was feeling I would need. Some crazy things happened like I was interviewed by the german newspaper Bild and after a few days an ultrawideangle photo of my face (how ugly!) was there, in the middle of the page of one of the most widespread tabloids in the world…

I came back home with 10 rolls of black and white film. It’ll take a while before I develop and scan all of them, but I’ll be posting new photos soon: I just developed the first two rolls which are now hanging in my closet.

Well, I need to catch up now with all your blogs, how have you been?

I fell on the stairs yesterday night and almost broke my neck. I was going back home after my darkroom class, so happy because I had successfully managed to print a photo I like a lot on 24x30cm paper and it turned out beautiful. It was raining outside and the staircase to the subway station was extremely slippery. I heard the train coming and didn’t want to miss it so I rushed down the stairs. One second later I was flying. But that didn’t last long. My back hit the marble slab first, then, immediately after, I hit my head on it. So hard. I almost blacked out, but I forced myself to stay conscious because I wanted to check that I was still able to walk. So I grabbed my bag and my umbrella, heaved myself up and moved some cautious steps. Yes, my legs were still working, thank God. But woah, what a pain! The train had already left, so I reached the platform and dropped my body into a chair. My fingers were bleeding, my back and my arm were aching. I didn’t know what to think about, I just wanted to be home and go to bed and forget about everything. Some minutes later I got on a train, but then I realized that I was not wearing my eyeglasses anymore. I had to get off at the next stop, and go back to look for my glasses. I was so tired. My glasses were nowhere to be found and I was ready to abandon myself to that desperation feeling which was growing inside me. I asked the security guy if he had found a pair of glasses by any chance. Indeed he had found them and put them in a secure place. At least one good news. I thanked him and went back to wait for my train home.

Today my back is still aching, but I feel better and I think I’ll be OK.

Lesson learnt: I’m no superman.
