Enough Berlin photos for now. I’ve got this idea of making a little video out of the complete set, put some background music, some title pages and post it on vimeo. Could be a funny thing to do. I’m just a bit lazy to start the project. I know already that when I’ll start it I’ll be finished in a few hours. Now, where did I put my anti laziness pills…
In the meantime, I thought of posting some of the pictures I took during my one week holiday to the seaside. When I packed my things to go there, I made sure to include a tripod and a shutter release cable. My intention was to take some long exposures of the coast: the sea, the rocks and the trabocchi. A trabocco is a “sustainable fishing machines that resemble giant beached prawns sitting on the rocks with giant tendrils casting wide nets out into the deeper reaches of the sea” (source). Those machines are a common sight on the Abruzzo and Molise coastline and they have always fascinated me.
Unfortunately, the night I finally made up my mind about getting these shots done I broke my release cable. The damn thing literally fell apart in my hands the moment I was screwing it in my camera and a small but essential piece fell down into the darkness of the sea. Bummer. I had to resort to the good old shutter release button instead, keeping it pushed for some 8-10 seconds and hoping for the best. Too bad most of the photos suffered from camera shake, as I had been expecting. But I’ve got a couple of good ones which I’ll be posting soon.
Enjoy :)
